The Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce will offer its 10th annual Evening of Celtic Music and Dance in the newly reopened Roxy Theatre Saturday, March 25, at 7 p.m.
The event will feature the music of Ireland and Scotland, from traditional to contemporary, performed on Uilleann pipes, bouzouki, fiddle, penny whistle, guitar, bodhran and vocals, as well as dancers from the O’Kennedy-Holland Irish Dance Academy.
Musicians will include traditional Irish band Bealtaine from Pittsburgh, Tom Freeland, Jim GraySmith, Jordan GraySmith and others.
Traditional Irish and Scottish baked goods, including shortbread, scones, double fudge Irish cream cookies, Irish dairy cake, whiskey cake, gingersnaps and more will be available by donation, and chances will be sold for a Celtic raffle basket.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Chamber office, 203 N. Market St., or on celticmusicminerva.eventbrite.com. Unless the event is sold out, tickets will be available at the door.
All proceeds will benefit continued improvements and programming at the Roxy, which is located at 114 N. Market St., in Minerva’s historic downtown. For information, call 330-868-7979 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
