The race to be the next First Minister of Scotland is in high spirits amid the reports of Humza Yousaf’s resignation.

Despite reaching out to his opponents, the Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf is reportedly going to resign. The 39-year-old leader’s party has 63 votes as opposed to the anticipated gain by the Tories and the Greens. Experts predict that the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) is going to lose the no-confidence motion next week moved against the incumbent government.

The development comes as a fallout between the SNP and the Greens after the latter was dumped from the Scottish government. With the Greens’ support, Labour, the Tories, and the Liberal Democrats would be able to secure 64 MSPs against the government led by Yousaf, as per a report by Daily Record based on certain conditions.

Notably, Labour has proposed a resolution of no confidence in the Scottish Government, which, if it is approved, would force Yousaf out. Since Yousaf is in trouble, all eyes are on the potential First Minister candidates if the former resigns.

List Of Potential Candidates To Be The Next First Minister
