Hunt for men after football related disorder before Scottish Cup game

Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak as part of their investigations into football related disorder in Airdrie.

The incident took place at around 1.25pm at the West End Bar on Alexander Street prior to a Scottish Cup match between Airdrie and St Johnstone on Saturday, January 20.

The first man is described as white, slim build, average height and around 40 years old, wearing a distinctive orange jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.

The second man is described as white, medium build, tall and aged around 35 years old, wearing a navy coloured jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.

Constable Mowat of Coatbridge Police Office said: “We are keen to speak with these men who may have information to assist with our enquiries.

“I would encourage them, or anyone who recognises them, to please contact us.

“Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1585 of January 20, 2024, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.“
