Aidah Isa was named Volunteer of the Year at the governing body’s annual awards ceremony in Stirling.

They included working tirelessly alongside Highland Council, High Life Highland, the LTA and Tennis Scotland to resurface the public tennis courts at Bellfield Park in Inverness.

She also devoted significant time to Bellfield while balancing her career as a consultant surgeon

Speaking after the Tennis Scotland Awards 2024, Isa said: “Winning this award was really unexpected and a huge honour. It’s been an incredible journey for Bellfield working alongside Tennis Scotland to resurface our courts.

“It’s so inspiring to see the great work being carried out by volunteers at clubs across Scotland.”

In total, 21 Awards were handed out as the tennis and Padel tennis community came together to celebrate a year of success and growth for the sports.

Blane Dodds, Tennis Scotland Chief Executive, said: “Congratulations to Aidah, who came up against tough competition but was a deserving winner in our Volunteer of the Year category at the Tennis Scotland Awards 2024.

“We want to offer our thanks to Aidah and all the individuals and organisations who work tirelessly to further the growth and development of tennis in Scotland.

“With an all-time high club membership, increasing participation and record entries at competitions, we have real momentum in Scottish tennis and, as we celebrate the many successes of 2023, we look forward to the rest of this year with huge confidence.”
