Scotland captain Richie Berrington reflects on Oman’s decision to bat first:

“It doesn’t make too much difference, we’re happy taking the ball first. It’s our first game at this ground, on this pitch. The short side of the ground has the wind; it could be tricky defending that later on.

“With the ball first, it’s important we find out about the wicket quickly, and make sure we hit the right lengths.

“Every game we play is important, although we play a lot of games with a lot of the line. It’s a real good opportunity and one we’re looking forward to.”
