Scotland are special guests against the host nation on Friday to get Euro 2024 off with a bang.

It’s been 26 years of waiting for the Tartan Army to embark on another competition on foreign soil – and we opened France 98 too.

This time it’s Germany in Munich and it promises another unforgettable moment in the nation’s sporting history.

Not to mention a colourful one full of the supporters who’ve been eagerly anticipating this moment for DECADES.

The official allocation to see Steve Clarke‘s side was just 10,000 but there will be plenty more Scots in the stadium – known for the duration of the tournament as the ‘Munich Football Arena’.

Those who cant squeeze in – or blag it – will lap up the German beer in the bars around Bavaria and beyond. There’s between 100,000 and 200,000 expected to make the trip.

The countdown is on… it’s into single digit days and here’s the final details you need ahead of THE big one.

When is Germany vs Scotland?

  • Our return to the major tournament stage takes place on Friday, June 14.

Team news

Captain Andy Robertson and Lawrence Shankland both limped out early of Scotland‘s first training session.

The skipper was able to return though and his ankle knock is not serious according to Steve Clarke‘s assistant John Carver.

Hearts were in mouths at the sight – especially after injury cruelly denied Lewis Ferguson, Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson being involved – and then Lyndon Dykes was stretchered out of the pre-tournament camp too.

But with a fit squad – including Stuart Armstrong who returned to action in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Steve Clarke has all options at his disposal.

Though Sunsport columnist Gordon Strachan reckons the boss already knows who he’ll select for the curtain-raiser.

In the German camp, Nicolas Fullkrug has identified his biggest fears from the Scotland team, and Der Mannschaft have been lifted by the return of Real Madrid star Toni Kroos to the international fold.
