Super 10 ‘substantial for Scottish cricket’, says Kyle Coetzer



“You are bringing a franchise event to Aberdeen, which is going to be massive. It’ll be great to see some of the best players in the world coming to Scotland and to Aberdeen.

“Male and female, not only the national players but also those who are underneath the national players, and it is going to give them an opportunity to play at the highest level and play against some of the best cricketers in the world.

“This is going to be something which is hopefully going to bring a lot of opportunity to players within the country.”

Coetzer says T10 “doesn’t get a whole heap of exposure when it comes to cricket” and feels “up to six teams playing on the same ground on the same day” is an exciting proposition.

“It will be great to see these names playing on our shores,” he added.

“It is certainly going to be more than a one off, it is going to continue for a number of years, the intention is that this will hopefully become a staple diet of cricket in Scotland for years to come.”
