Trump Turnberry announces appointment of new General Manager – Scottish Business News
TRUMP Turnberry has announced the appointment of Nic Oldham to the role of General Manager, ushering in a new era for the resort.
Having previously led as the Director of Sales & Marketing at Trump Turnberry and prior to joining the resort, Head of Customer and Commercial at Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, Nic brings a deep understanding of hospitality and a wealth of expertise to the role.
A seasoned professional with an impressive track record in the industry built over three decades, Nic articulates a clear strategic vision and ambition for Trump Turnberry. He said:
âMy immediate focus will be on preserving the resortâs heritage legacy and safeguarding the essence of the brand, while propelling it towards a future which embraces innovations in luxury and hospitality to build on the already exceptional experiences we offer.â
âTodayâs travellers are increasingly looking for unique, authentic experiences and our guests are drawn to Trump Turnberryâs rich heritage and story every bit as much as our world class standards of luxury and excellence. Itâs important that we continue to evolve with informed, strategic thinking to deliver not just whatâs expected today, but for the future.â
Referencing a clear focus on the positioning of Turnberry, particularly within the Scottish market, Nic outlined plans to elevate visibility as a weekend and day destination.
âSituated just an hour away from Glasgow, our world-class amenities and unique experiences, from golf, shooting, equestrian activities and our incredible food and beverage options, including our Chefâs Table, are all easily accessible to guests looking for luxury close to home. There is a clear opportunity to elevate Trump Turnberryâs position within the Scottish and UK market as a must visit luxury destination, while continuing to attract the international market and put Scotland on the map as one of the top global destinations to visit.â
Community engagement will continue to be a focus for the resort. Nic commented:
âWe take immense pride in our role within the community and our charitable work; this year we raised a record-breaking ÂŁ101,586 for our partner charities and will look forward to continuing to build meaningful connections, not only within our walls but also within Ayrshire and across Scotland.â
Expressing his deep-rooted connection with Trump Turnberry, Nic said:
âThis appointment is not merely a role; it signifies a return to the place that shaped my earliest golf memories, with my grandfather being member of Turnberry Golf Course and my father naming it his favourite course.â
âI have the immense privilege of working with an exceptional team, each of whom has an unwavering commitment and sense of pride in creating and delivering long lasting memories for our guests and I look forward to building on our focus around creating those unique guest experiences, rooted in the very best of Scottish hospitality.â
Mark Hawthorn, COO of Trump Hotels said:
