Turkish shipyard to launch second ferry for Scotland

1. A Turkish shipyard is preparing to launch a second ferry for the Scottish fleet. The MV Loch Indaal is to be moved from its slipway into the water at Cemre Marin Endustri shipyard in Yalova next month.

The ferry is to serve the Islay and Jura routes and is on schedule to be delivered in February. Its sister vessel, MV Isle of Islay, was launched earlier this year. The yard is building two more ferries and all are progressing on time and on budget, sources said.

Jim Anderson, director of vessels at the procurement agency CMAL, said it was “welcome news for islanders”.
